Course Information.
The most famous course at Vale do Lobo is amongst the best 100 golf
courses in Europe, with some truly unforgettable holes, such as the
famous sixteenth hole.
The Royal Golf Course is much more difficult than the neighbouring
Ocean Course. The terrain is even more undulating, there are more water
hazards and sand traps and its holes are generally longer. Although
the original design was by Sir Henry Cotton, Rocky Roquemore's distinctive
trademarks are clearly visible all round the course. The Royal Course
is also one of the world's most frequently photographed courses, because
of its famous hole 16, a par 3 requiring a shot of 218 metres over three
spectacular cliffs to reach the green.
"Vale do Lobo resort is one of the most beautiful tourist areas
in the Iberian Peninsula."
Mention should also be made of hole g, a par 3 with a lake in front
of its green. Water is also a distinct obstacle at holes 6, 16 and 17.
With two courses and a golf academy, the sophisticated Vale do Lobo
resort is one of the most beautiful tourist areas in the Iberian Peninsula,
equipped with a full set of infrastructures that provide an ideal complement
to its beautiful beaches.
‘Vale do Lobo’s courses are amongst the best in Europe.
The sixteenth hole on the Royal Course is the most magnificent I have
ever seen and it is the most photographed in the world.’ Judith
