Course Information.

The Tsada Golf Club, the first grass course to be built in Cyprus, was completed in April 1994. Located just 20 minutes from Paphos Town and 550 metres above sea level the location ensures that the golf course benefits from cool breezes during the summer months.

Set in the grounds of the 12th century monastery of Stavros tis Minthis that lies in a gentle picturesque valley and gives an air of timelessness and romance. Often a monk may be seen in the garden of the monastery from the 7th tee. Tsada’s 18-hole golf course was designed by Donald Steel, a golf architect renowned for always allowing a course to blend into its natural surroundings.

Built in two nine hole loops, the par 72 course measures just over 6,000 metres and is an enjoyable round for players of all standards. Most of the fairways slope up or downhill and being able to play from side hill lies is a definite advantage. Finding a flat lie, other than on the tee is a challenge but not impossible. Most fairways are also lined with fruit trees and grape vines making recovery from wayward shots that little more difficult and testing the players course management and confidence from the tee.

The positioning of the undulating greens requires accurate approach shots, however the reward on reaching the greens is the perfect putting surfaces. The course is not short of bunkers either so you will need to be on form to play to your handicap.

Memorable holes include the par 3 14th, the most challenging of the short holes on the course and is played from an elevated tee across a ravine to a green cleverly set on the side of the hill. Truly a test of confidence, club selection and accuracy. The par 5 17th has a winding fairway that is crossed by three times by streams in its 533-metre length before you reach the safety of the green. The clubhouse facilities include a restaurant, bar, ladies and gents changing rooms with showers, outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, a driving range, putting green, pitching and chipping area. The club shop provides clients with an array of golfing accessories, a boutique, electrically powered golf carts and trolleys and there is a PGA qualified professional available to those who require tuition or guidance.
