Course Information.
The Tecina Golf Course is located on the island of La Gomera and was
designed by Donald Steel who was also responsible for the New St. Andrews
course among many others. This eighteen-hole, par 71 course covers an
approximate area of 545.000 square metres with an overall length of
6,205 metres.
Three hundred thousand square metres have been devoted to the playing
area, while almost exactly a third is dedicated to landscaped gardens
and paths. The course is built on the slopes of Tecina and is set amongst
the varied local vegetation.
The views from the course are spectacular including the valley, Atlantic
Ocean and Tenerife’s majestic Mount Teide in the distance.
"Relax on this beautiful course on an Island shared by the resort's
hotel."
In the upper part of the course there are native plants typical of
the more arid areas of the island. Then, as you descend, you will come
across ever more luxuriant vegetation until you reach the tropical species
and fruit trees in the vicinity of the Hotel Jardin Tecina.
There are no buildings of any kind on the course so as to ensure uninterrupted
views of the sea, the mountains and the local plant life. The clubhouse
provides a cosy atmosphere for golfers and non-golfers alike.
The country cottage style clubhouse is situated near the driving range,
the putting and chipping greens. From this vantage point you can admire
magnificent views over Tapahuga Beach whilst enjoying a well-earned
drink.
