Course Information.
If you have not previously ventured beyond the Costa del Sol for a
round of golf then a trip to Costa Brava is well worth a visit. This
part of Spain displays some of the finest examples of golf architecture
and this championship course with its breathtaking scenery has recently
opened to wide acclaim.
The PGA Golf Catalunya, is one of Europe's elite, with a top ten rating
from many respected sources and it is developing into a spectacular
36 hole course. Located 45 minutes from Barcelona, and only 7 miles
from Girona Airport, this tree-lined course played host to several national
and European golf tournaments and received numerous plaudits from the
world's best players.
The course was designed by former European Tour professionals Neil
Coles and Angel Gallardo who have a combined experience of 65 years
in the golf industry and more than 25 European Tour titles between them.
"This championship course with its breathtaking scenery has recently

Carved through a dense area of pine and cork trees this charming course
has a parkland feel to it set in a secluded and peaceful location. The
fairways are semi-wide, and the greens are large, undulating and can
be very fast. The courses was built on gently rolling terrain and have
several lakes and wetlands coming into play on most of the holes. The
course can play long and we suggest you play from the forward tees to
appreciate the challenging layout.
This is epitomized by the course's link with the PGA. The PGA Golf
de Catalunya hosted the Gene Sarazen World Open 1999 won by Thomas Bjorn,
the 2000 Peugeot Open de España won by England's Brian Davies,
the 2001 European Senior Tour Championship won by Jerry Bruner and is
the home of the European Tour qualifying school stage II.
