Course Information.
This conventional Par-72 course opened in the year 2000, although the
completely refurbished back nine holes - formerly part of the 27-hole
Laguna Course - had been completed in their original configuration a
decade before.
Opened in May 2000, the Millennium is more open than it's neighbours
in the Old Course and Pinhal but can be tight from the tees on a number
of holes. Water comes into play on only 3 of the holes so this should
be a chance for the higher handicapper to gain some confidence before
tackling some of the big guns.
"the Millennium is more open than it's neighbours in the Old
Course and Pinhal but can be tight from the tees on a number of holes
"
The presence of 4 different tees on each hole means that every level
of golfer can adjust to either increase or reduce the level of difficulty
accordingly. The back tees are somewhat predictably called the 'tiger
tees' and represent the most severe of challenges the course can offer.
Although still quite a new course the Millennium is hugely popular
with visiting golfers and is often played as part of a golf package
with the other Oceanico owned Vilamoura courses. The result of the overall
project is a resort that rivals the best in Europe.
