Course Information.
Due to open in October 2007 the Lykia Links Course will be not just
the only Links course in Turkey, but the whole of the Southern Mediterranean.
Designed by famous golf architect Perry Dye all holes on the course,
as one would expect, overlook the Med and are challenged by the prevailing
winds.
Holes 13-16 are located directly adjacent to the ocean and peak in
and out of the deep dunes. If you are thinking about tackling the championship
course we would recommend practicing your punch shot as this style should
reduce the effects of the winds - the main protection for all links
courses. Be aware though as there are some treacherous pot bunkers to
gobble up any loose strokes.
"the Lykia Links Course will be not just the only Links course
in Turkey, but the whole of the Southern Mediterranean "
One thing that puts many people off taking to the fairways in Turkey
is the scorching heat. This may well be another advantage of the links
style course with the cooling Mediterranean helping golfers escape the
full heat of the sun.
As well as the championship course Lykia will also be host to a 9 hole,
par 27 Academy course. This is more suitable to the new golfer or children
although be warned, the Island green of the 7th will provide a challenge
for even the lowest of handicappers.
