Course Information.
Prominently located in the well-known Marbella Golf Valley, La Quinta
Golf & Country Club is one of the most renowned golf centres in Europe
and one of the most charismatic clubs on the Spanish “Costa del Sol”.The
number of celebrities, professional and amateur players from all over
the world who return regularly to enjoy the facilities and service,
reflects this status.
La Quinta Golf & Country Club consists of 27 holes that meander they
way through the slopes of Marbella’s golf valley. Set in perfect conditions
with beautiful views of the Marbella Valley, the mountains and the sea
the course demands of the golfer maximum concentration to navigate the
undulations, tight fairways and raised greens.
The course is a challenge for even the best player and emphasises accuracy,
goodshot selection and a command of all the clubs in the bag. A thinking
golfers course that reflects the playing characteristics of its designer
Manuel Piñero it rewards accuracy rather than long hitting. A variety
of hazards come into play from elevated tees with trees, water, sand
and streams to negotiate before approaching the greens of which a good
proportion are raised. Many choose to walk but we would recommend grabbing
a buggy to save your strength for the test ahead.
"Accuracy from the tee here is at a premium."
La Quinta’s “jewel” is its Golf Academy directed by Manuel Piñero.
Separate from the clubhouse, the Academy has its own facilities. Everyone
is welcome, from beginners to the more advanced golfer, anyone looking
to lower their handicap or just pick up a few tips.
The Academy offers exclusive programmes that are designed to meet the
needs of all and include two-day, weekend programs to five or more day
courses. Lessons include video sessions and all classes are offered
in the exclusive, relaxing and beautiful environment that epitomises
La Quinta.
The clubhouse is spacious and comfortable with spectacular views from
the restaurant, bar and terrace of the Marbella Valley. The rooms throughout
the clubhouse are air-conditioned but a number of the rooms also feature
charming fireplaces that become focal points for unforgettable evenings
in the short Marbella winters. Give La Quinta a try and become one of
the many golfers that return frequently to be reacquainted with its
charm and challenges.
