Course Information.

The Boavista Championship course was designed by Howard Swan, past president of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects.
His vision was to blend the course in to the natural terrain in order to retain a harmonious and un-forced round of golf.

The course is split into 2 distinctive sections and offers a variety of different tests thoughout the round. The first is a downhill par 4 that really gives the opportunity to open the shoulders early in the round.
For the more amatuer golfer amongst us the 8th hole will certainly get the nerves jangling. A 430 metre par 5, your tee shot is crucial as your second must go over a large ravine before reaching the landing area for your approach. Leave your tee shot to far back and you may be faced with either a lay up to the waste hazard or taking on a long carry to leave yourself an approach shot.

"The signature hole on the outward nine is the stunning par-4, 7th hole set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with exhilarating panoramic views extending from Praia da Luz round to with the hills at Monchique creating a spectacular backdrop "

Fantastic scenary Challenging approach shots

The 13th Hole is an absolute cracker of a hole which again gives the opportunity to let loose with the big dog off the tee and hopefully benefit from some extra distance rolling down the hill. Again the par 5 has an element of risk or reward as a stream runs directly across the fairway and infront of the green meaning if you try and get too close on your second you'll be plodging with Van der Velde. Take a moment to savour the surroundings of the green as this is one of the most picturesque finishes in the Western Algarve.
Hole 14 requires a carry of around 100 metres over a large lake to reach the par 3 green while the 15th, stroke index 1 is a testing par 4 that plays long as it is up-hill all the way and requires a tee shot over a large lake.

As well as an 18 hole championship golf course Boavista Golf Resort also has a driving range and an excellent golf academy. In the club house you will find an extensively stocked golf shop with equipment and clothing from all the leading brands as well as superb dining facilities and a private function room. In the health club there is an indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and gymnasium as well as private treatment rooms where an extensive range of treatments are on offer.
