Course Information.
Amarilla golf is an extensive Links type course with spectacular views,
situated on the southern coast of Tenerife, just bordering the sea.
The character of the 18 hole course is marked by the incredible views
of the Atlantic Ocean which, without a doubt, inspired the golf architect
Donald Steel.
Because of its privileged location the area enjoys a warm and pleasant
climate throughout the year where prevailing winds are a constant feature.
Amarilla Championship Course provides a defying challenge for the professional
golfer while, at the same time, offers an attractive and enjoyable game
for those of a more modest ability.
It was inaugurated in 1989, and one year later Amarilla Golf hosted
the second edition of the Tenerife Open, which was part of the European
P.G.A Tour.
Amarilla Golf also offers other installations including driving range,
putting green, equestrian centre and Club House, which in itself, includes
tennis court, swimming pool, bar and restaurant with views of the ocean
and the Golf course and now also including sea sports and sailing facilities.
The mixture of a Marina, in advanced construction, with Golf and other
tourist and recreational activities will make Amarilla Golf together
with San Miguel Marina one of the most interesting leisure resorts within
the islands.

As one would expect, on an island of beautiful contrasts, the eighteen
holes range over a variety of terrains.
From the Club house, commanding fine views, the first four holes skirt
the rocky shoreline, taking in- at the 3rd hole- a great dogleg, attractively
sited alongside a Barranca and cactus-covered hills.
From the short 5th, to the par five 7th, the way takes in a gem of
a tiny ocean inlet and rolling foothills, bringing the golfer back within
sight of the clubhouse. The next three holes bring a change of direction,
before another loop of holes sweeps down to the ocean’s edge and back
again.
The 14th and 15th, heading inland, lead to the last three holes, along
the green avenues between rows of houses to complete the round. Amarilla
is truely is "a golf course of international standard – all in a magnificent
setting, overlooking the Ocean."
