Alhaurin is away from the bustle of the coast, situated between Mijas
and Coín in the Sierra de Mijas, the course has majestic views
of the northern mountains, Africa and the Med to the south.
Not just one golf course Alhaurin is in effect three. The 18 hole course,
designed by Seve Ballesteros, is of international quality. The resort
also includes a 9 hole golf course which borders a beautiful lake and
an 18 hole junior golf course which can only be played by adults if
they are accompanied by a junior.
With challenging holes lush green fairways and greens set amongst pine
woods the main 18 holes are an exhilarating test.
"The fairways are long and narrow with greens that are protected
by a fierce array of bunkers, lakes and gardens."
The course is very hilly, following the natural lie of the land and
is extremely challenging, compelling the golfer to concentrate on accuracy.
The fairways are long and narrow with greens that are protected by a
fierce array of bunkers, lakes and gardens.
To ensure that the course can be enjoyed by all golfers regardless
of ability the course features up to six different teeing areas on each
hole. The course is not an easy walk, and taking a buggy is recommended.
The clubhouse is set in an old restored Andalucían farmhouse.
Alahurin’s restaurant specialises in traditional cuisine and the
terrace, like the top golf course itself boasts some stunning views.
You might have to bring extra balls but Alhaurín is a must if
you are an avid golfer.
